Rat attack, rat plague, rat infestation – these are the much dreaded words any homeowners are afraid to hear. No owner would want their house to be infested with rats, and who would be? There’s even an ongoing joke that rats are not even welcome in the zoo. That is just how much people have come to despise the little rascals. It may sound harsh, but owing to the nature of it, people have every right to dislike rats.
They may appear upright and clean, but in real life, they are the complete opposite. It’s really ironic that cats are the ones being shown as the bandits when in fact they are the heroes. Even in real life, you will choose snuggling to a cat rather than to a rat.
When you have rat infestation in your home, it will send out wrong signals to your friends and neighbors. One, your house is dirty and unkempt. It will be the natural reaction of anybody who hears you have rats in your home. That is exactly the way you would be thinking also. Next, people will be hesitant to go to your place – maybe, afraid is the right word – for fear of running into the little scoundrels. Again, who wouldn’t be? Finally, your friends and peers will be laughing at your back and will make fun of your situation. Such unpleasant thoughts, really, come to think of it.
Which brings us to the first question – who would want rat infestation in their house? Nobody, indeed. Which bring us to the second question, how come the rat plague persists in our houses when nobody wants them? The answer to that is because we have been very careless in caring for our home, it has given the rats the opportunity to break in and stay. Don’t be offended. Rats have a way of finding their way inside. Having a clean house is not a guarantee that rats won’t break into your home. There are a lot of factors that are involved here. Your house maybe clean and orderly, but there may be foods and munchies sprawled all around. You might be living near open fields where rats abound or in warehouses. The land where your house is standing might be rat infested in the first place. All of this contributes to rat infestation. Unfortunately again, we have not been in the lookout for it.
However, never despair if you find out you got rat infestation in your home. At this stage, it’s best to let an expert in the field handle the problem. It is too far gone now and any home-remedies will be futile at this point. You will just be wasting your time and money if you choose to do it on your own. Let a qualified pest control company handle it. Next time, be aware for signs of any pest infestation so you can nip it in the bud at the earliest possible time.
